Boschendal Wine Farm

Boschendal Accommodation comprises of a number of historical cottages that have been renovated to offer guests an opportunity to experience the Boschendal way of life. With privileged access to the Boschendal Estate, cottage guests are able to enjoy farm life, walk in the vineyards, speed along the mountain biking trails, fish in the dams, read, relax and savour the goodness of life. Rhodes Cottage: This historic cottage, built by renowned architect, Sir Herbert Baker, has been redecorated to give guests a chance to experience a piece of South African history and walk in the footsteps of Cecil John Rhodes. Set under the imposing outline of the Simonsberg mountain, the cottage has magnificent views over the Boschendal Estate and the valley. The cottage is about 2 km from the main Werf. A large verandah, outside dining under the oaks and an eco friendly swimming pool add to the relaxed feel of the property, which is a South African National Heritage Site. Sleeps up to 6 people in the cottage and 4 people in the garden annex. Clarence Cottage is a newly renovated cottage within walking distance of the historic werf where the Boschendal restaurant and Deli are also located. With subtle styling, a generous living area and a big private garden this cottage is an ideal base from which to explore Boschendal and the Cape winelands. The cottage has a large kitchen, fireplace, a porch running the length of the house and sleeps 4 people. The Orchard Cottages is a collection of luxury cottages with kitchenettes, outdoor dining areas for braais, a large shared swimming pool and a magnificent setting among the Boschendal orchards. The cottages are about 2 km from the main werf. A short drive or cycle through the pastures and fruit orchards brings guests to these stylishly converted labourers’ houses. Welcome to Smiths @ Casa De Molteno This Cottage is a rustic, fully furnished, two-bedroom holiday unit located on the R304 just 4km's from Stellenbosch, South Africa. This stunning mountain-view unit can comfortably host four guests a maximum of five and comprises of two bedrooms, one bathroom (with bath and shower), and an open-plan kitchen and living area. The living area includes a build in fireplace and leads through double doors to the patio with outdoor braai to experience the lovely mountain-view with a sun-downer in hand. The main bedroom contains a double bed, the second bedroom has 2 single beds and the living room has a comfortable sleeper couch. Cleaning of the unit during the duration of your stay can be arranged on request, but must be pre-booked and will be for your own account. The fully equipped, open plan kitchen caters for 5 people. The Kierie Kwaak Self Catering cottages are situated 4 km outside Stellenbosch, which is famous for its university and historical buildings. Within a radius of 100 km one can visit the Mother City, Cape Town, Darling which all have interesting tourist attractions. Stellenbosch has excellent golf courses and is 20 km from the seaside. The cottages are situated on a farm in the beautiful, rustic Jonkershoek valley, which forms part of a World Heritage area. The cottages are within walking distance from the Assegaaibosch nature reserve and the Mountain To Ocean Forestry Reserve, which is 8 minutes drive from us. It is believed that the cottages were originally built as housing for Italian Prisoners of war who built stonewalls for gardens on the farm. During 2000 they were renovated as guest cottages. Activities in the valley are: picnicking, hiking, mountaineering, jogging, fly fishing, wine tasting, bird watching and walks in the nature reserves with their rich fynbos vegetation. Activities on the farm: Walk in the veld, bird watching and swimming in the farm pool fed by fresh water from the Stellenbosch mountain. From the veranda you have a magnificent view of the valley and mountains surrounding the valley. The cottages also have a sundeck adjacent to a mountain stream where one can relax. The two cottages are annexed to each other. No. 1 consists of one bedroom with either one single or twin beds, a fully furnished kitchen and a bathroom with shower, toilet and washing basin. No. 2 consists of a bedroom with a double bed, a bedroom with bunker beds, a bathroom with shower, toilet and washing basin and a fully furnished kitchen. Bedding and towels are provided. In keeping with the established standards which you would expect from Eendracht Hotel, we have added another building 5 minutes' walk from Eendracht. The same - but totally different. The building is a 1928 listed house that was restored in its original Art Deco style. The units are semi self-catering and most have their own lounges. Two Bedroom Unit: This Art Deco unit has two bedrooms and a living room. The one room is furnished with two single beds and the other with a queen bed.
